
Overview
Jonathan P. Fisher is an associate attorney in Rutan’s Litigation and Trial department and handles primarily civil business litigation. As a litigator, he represented entities in breach of contract claims, business disputes, business fraud cases, and tortious interference allegations, amongst others. Jonathan provides legal counseling through all stages of litigation, including dispositive motion practice, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trials and appeals.
Prior to joining Rutan & Tucker, Jonathan defended large scale product liability claims against companies such as Google and Honeywell, during which time he negotiated the settlement and disposal of dozens of claims. Additionally, Jonathan has prior experience practicing election law where he litigated cases ranging from election challenges to voting rights claims. His experience includes successfully second-chairing an election challenge, with victories in both the trial and appellate courts.
Jonathan attended law school at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law where he was a quarter finalist brief writer and oralist in the JESSUP International Moot Court competition. He was also a member of the Business Law Society. During law school, Jonathan externed for the Honorable A. James Robertson, II in the Superior Court of San Francisco. Additionally, he worked in the litigation department of the San Francisco City Attorneys’ Office.
Prior to law school, Jonathan attended Bard College where he was an NCAA baseball player and team captain. He was also involved in the Economics Society and Political Law Society. Jonathan was the 2016 recipient of the Bard College Community Service Award & Scholarship.
