Rutan & Tucker LLP recently secured a $1.5 million jury verdict for its client that was owed more than $1 million in unpaid invoices. The opposing company filed a cross-complaint asserting various claims for fraud, negligence, and interference and sought nearly $4 million in damages. Over the course of a two-week jury trial, Rutan & Tucker successfully established that its client met its business obligations and proved the company did not engage in any tortious conduct. The jury reached a verdict awarding Rutan & Tucker’s client its unpaid invoices and interest and zeroed out the opposing party’s 12 cross-claims. The trial team was led by Proud Usahacharoenporn, Michael Malakouti, and Barrett Gould.
